...Fatalities of the Frozen
By SolApathy
Bray as daylight inches away
Consumed by the gloom of seasonal decay
Withering into winters breadth
Frozen- - nothing left
Life abandon as my soul cools
A bitter reminder of the cruel
I am not a fool
I see clearly -- the coming of the end
I have seen it in prophecy as the sun slowly descends
Beyond the darkness as 5 o’ clock brings night
I cower in my abode, out of sight
Hibernating to escape the emptiness of my soul
Spare you from my fright of my oncoming delusion
Fear of winter’s collusion
Bound to the darkness of the season
Whispering so many dark reasons
Should I just end it all
Break under the call of her winter’s breadth
I see no escape in sight as I accept
…Death
Consumed by the gloom of seasonal decay
Withering into winters breadth
Frozen- - nothing left
Life abandon as my soul cools
A bitter reminder of the cruel
I am not a fool
I see clearly -- the coming of the end
I have seen it in prophecy as the sun slowly descends
Beyond the darkness as 5 o’ clock brings night
I cower in my abode, out of sight
Hibernating to escape the emptiness of my soul
Spare you from my fright of my oncoming delusion
Fear of winter’s collusion
Bound to the darkness of the season
Whispering so many dark reasons
Should I just end it all
Break under the call of her winter’s breadth
I see no escape in sight as I accept
…Death

Being a Texan, I always look forward to Winter because the Summertime heat is so oppressive here. I love a good Wintertime write, and you slayed it as usual, dearest. Rebs:).

*hands sol a blanket* this reminds me of the end of NMH's "oh comely" for some reason.... We're all crawling inside the stomach of winter maybe? Idk. The metaphor escapes me, hahahaha. Awesome piece!
