...Blistered

By SolApathy

In the deep—I creep
Broken I no longer speak
In words or emotions
I’m through
I cannot sail this ocean of false passion
Every day I took the lashings of your voice
Vindictive, full of venom
I retreated as you echoed
The viciousness of my perceived failures
My silence--confirmation of my self-damnation
Impossibility of any salvation
In your eyes of burning skies
I blister as you yearn to stoke the flames
Set me upon the pyre
Your true desire
I surrender to your words and set myself
…On fire

Your imagery always kills me. I can relate to parts of this.

Great imagery! I believe we have all felt viciously inadequate when our significant other is on the warpath... I finally got the last word... it was d-i-v-o-r-c-e... Kudos! ~worm~
