Upon a Silence

By Lab Rat

I wish a lot of things
Outside the silence
but no more walking along the lines
Inside my pretend

Where once minds were solid
now just a 'hello' suffices
And the lies trend into shallow
Narrow and biting

I wish a lot of things

Once I was akin to the kids
Down the hall and across the day
the block was our galaxy
Our dark milky way

Now I just feel shallow
and silent
So silent
Diligent to the point
So stupid
and repetitive

Just another wish
And another
Another....
I wish upon a silence

I, also, used to wallow in the lost brightness of youth... that's when I found a new purpose when I started volunteering at a homeless shelter... ~worm~
