...Marooned

By SolApathy

Marooned in the memories of time
Knowing the universe is no longer mine
No opportunity to rewind
To undo the damage of a moment, unkind
Suffering in silence, a deafening- Dark space
Crowded with the voices I cannot face
They say I am a master of my own poetic fate
Tell me why I am so filled of hate?
Regret so long ago transformed
I adorn the ashes of a love gone cold
Wear it like a cloak, feigning courage
I embrace back-scattered moonlight beams
As my fingers pass though these escaping dreams
Can’t hold onto memories for long
My song is…Gone

Ever notice how songs suddenly become intensely personal when one has a catastrophic loss or emotional turmoil . Extreme hate could triger the same . At first it is music but with years passing they become poems .

Well .... sometimes silence is just what is needed. An interval between songs. Take off the ashen cloak and try on a...cozy robe and slippers? And go for a nice long nap, to wake up refreshed and with a new song. Scholar
