....Nuclear Dreams
By SolApathy
Into the shadows of our deepest desires
I stir the quickening fire
Building it to burn as your soul yearns
Solace in the thoughts of dreams not drowned
Desperation in the belief there is hope to be found
I am the last glimmer of hope in a world foretold to end
As helpless civilizations gave in to lust and greed; untold deeds
A world or complete disrepair; where no hope remains
Festered for so long they can’t see beyond their own misery
It is the coming storm of dark epiphany
The world chants a chorus to escape the purgatory of suffering
To forever be in the in-between is not something this life wishes to be
Our desire, the quickening fire- Nuclear end
A quickness that shall forgive our sins
In the end where there was no hope
We pushed a button and all hung upon
…The rope

This is something I've thought about in melancholy. I will say it because you've been so brave. Every mistake we make is because of the desire for change. You're so right. As with Rome, humans seem to require madness and destruction in order to alter present course. I hope it doesn't get this extreme, we all do. But it may. Well said.

I always need that nightly fix. I couldn't help but feel this under my skin. This burned. So good as always.
