Dragon rolls and gratitude

By Adagios

The sleep of the damned

Presence not absence

Lovers face in my hand

Hovels turned to a palace

Dooms created for me

Frankenstein futures

Chances sprout from this tree

Tree of life not of malice

My souls Infirmities

Held at bay by loves lattice

The lamp of your smile

Tethers feet as if ballast

Greeting “heart-day” with grins

Scarred but not callous

shining light from within

Accepting loves challenge

A hopeful and harmonious outlook is always helpful as you say so well here my friend A. Scarred but not callous; aren't we all - cheers! - Dan

The journey within, very well in expressing and moving through these thoughts. Loved it.

I, too, find myself writing things down while waiting on people- Or, really, tapping words into my phone. This is far too positive a poem for my taste, but I think you approach the topic with maturity and maintain a great tone through out the piece with the use of excellent figurative language and not necessarily coming out and saying what you're writing about. So, yeah... Still good stuff. Hope the date went well.
