Hangman's release

By Lab Rat

Guttural lurch
shackles holding to this moment
From slavery to freedom, a diverge
Staggering haphazard to the reaction of my crime
Step after step, frozen in this moment of time
    lost
in the broken spoken words left
dripping off my tongue so soft
Syllables crumbling, definitions loose
I'm unused past the potential of finding
Everything waiting, down the steps of wood scaffolding
in the shade of the
    hangman's noose

Its just a short drop to find revelation
After the  murmur of my heresy
Purged the sins of the past in one quick stop
Embracing the sentence
Of a short drop

The judgment of my soul, may god have mercy
