October Rain

By Sketso

sultry morning with drizzle haze,
taunting, teasing of warmer days...

you catch me unaware

though the beauty you hold is grand,
I fail to see beyond the hand

gripping the steering wheel

rains are supposed to be cleansing,
yet the whole world seems dirty, today,
as if dying a pauper's death...

and this morning of mourning
should serve as a warning,
for this warm autumn storm
is working to form

that same familiar ache..........

I wish I knew the way out.
