Balder's Wake
By HeadpatSlut
Light shines less brilliant and mead’s taste seems bitter-
As
mourners gather ‘round the Joyous One's death-pyre-
The Father
of Forseti lies in everlasting silence-
As the venom of Treason’s
bite burns in our blood-
His Ship of Dwarves, never again to be heard-
His glory never felt again-
The Daughter of Nep weeps woefully in
the Council of the Raven God-
Broad Splendor is all rust from the
tears of Gods and Men.

The Skalds were the savages who sometimes fought and lived amongst the Vikings as they visited foreign lands. But maybe a video game too (some of the lingo sounded in that genre). VERY INTERESTING...thanks DK6

I find this poem powerful, though somber. The wording is well written, and I quite enjoyed reading this.
I do hope you write more.
