Hollow
By FearlessDragon
An autumn chill creeps silent easing through my window
The drapery
is dancing in a ritualistic greet
A howling in the distance forms
the beat,
To their aboriginal contortions
I follow every
movement feeling fearful, yet alive
As my dense acquired sorrow transcends
these heavy eyes
The autumn fragrance
Ever so gently,
Caresses every sense
Guiding me back to a land
Where fairy
tales exist
Childlike, forgotten reveries
Swim freely
in my head
As frozen tears defrost,
Long after they have shed
The past is now forgiven
Tomorrow bleeds a brand new light
This moment now eternal
Spawns wings to give me flight
Courageous on a razor's edge
I take my chance and leap
I awaken
in a somber room
Upon a startled blink
In this room there
is no door,
Merely four pale walls surrounding me
And a pungent
feel of emptiness
Heavier than the deepest hidden sea
My
broken body tremors and shakes
As i'm lying naked,
Bloodied
on the floor
A frigid ground so coldÂ
Striking deep within
my core
Across the way a window,
Up I stumble to its latch
Its edges all nailed shut
And the glass is painted black
A bloody ear I press
Against its darkened face
The sound of
joy and laughter
Brought on by childrens' play
Above this
weary window frame
Alone,
There hangs a photograph
A picture
of a garden
Just beyond my grasp
I stress and strain to
no avail
For it's too far out of reach
I crumble to the ground
Weeping for solace and release
The walls echo in silence
A godless answer to my prayers
A gaping hole lies in my chest,
Hollowed,
Nothing there...
