Swallow You Whole

By SaintNHB

Can I open up to you?
The dark is forcing itself upon me
I’d rather suffocate you and swallow you whole
Then you’ll see my insides
You’ll hear my thoughts and see my dreams
You’ll feel the way my body spasms and contorts itself to pleasure

Can I swallow you whole?

Can I breathe you into me?
Visions forcing themselves upon me
I’d like to inhale you into my lungs
Breathe what I breathe, living cigarettes and killing trees
Feel my chest restrict, feel it start to close up
Feel my body start to decay in mortality

 Can I swallow you whole?

Can I hold you in my hand? Let me stroke you with my pinky so gently
I wont hurt you, but you can feel my hesitation to touch the living
You can feel the softness of fingers unused in sexual care or everyday life
Either way, they go left behind

Can I swallow you whole?

Can I twist you in my mouth? Taste the stale existence I’ve had
I’d like to kiss you dirty, and let moans out again
Let the bitterness flow, feel my wretched soul
Taste the nothing I’ve become I just need you to know me

 Can I swallow you whole?

  • A former member wrote: I love the whole concept of this. I've felt like this before...I wish I could portray it as eloquently as you have. "can I open up to you" so close to "can I swallow you whole" makes each question that little bit deeper... Kudos.

Poetry is a need to invoke emotion. I feel both curious and intrigued. Great job.

In a cannibalistic way this is how you would absorb the powers of your enemies. But poetically the image of consuming someone to share experienceis in the least intriguing.

I didnt really think about it in a cannibalistic way, until I re-read it afterwards... At least cannibalism is any interesting thing if thats all people pick up from this piece. :)
