For what is the beauty of a man..?

By A Velvet Tongue

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his strength
Given freely , the only requirement he asks
is that you need him to lean upon
Forcing your back to stand straight
when the burdens of life chisel away your spine
an unyielding foundation

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his humor
Dancing eyes alighting
as lips upturn in laughter
The foulest of moods being swept away
with the softness of his jests.
a quirky line

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his intellect
Finishing the sentences your weary mind forgets
Adding new definition to stoic words
Sharing his thoughts of life
fueling you to a deeper knowledge
an eclectic comprehension

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his touch
The way his hands find new pathways to tender flesh
without the need of light
Forcing your breath to catch
Your flesh to spasm
a mastered technique

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his ego
Something we may find so hard to grasp
yet so very important to his manhood
gentle reminders that he is worthy
an exhilaration

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his scent
Drawing your senses to weave across his flesh
the very fragrance that allows you
to pick him out in a crowd, distictly his own.
an intoxication

For what is the beauty of a man
If not his kiss
All the secrets he keeps inside
released as you revel in his unique taste
Unbridled passions, kindling to life
through ragged breaths, soft lappings
a fiery fountain

For what is the beauty of a man
If not for temperant
The seething rage of misfortune
lack of communication and understanding
force of will bending to snap...break..
as fury turns to need, within your arms
a brutal release

For what is the beauty of a man
If not for his lady
By his side , Standing true as an ancient oak

Supporting him, when he needs it most
Reminding him, that all is not lost
Scolding him, when he is out of line
Loving him, til the bend of time
Carrying him, when he is too ill to walk
Ecouraging him, his eternal rock

Understanding him, enough to know...

The beauty of her man

My lord, a beautiful tribute to us men, rare, exquisite. It makes me proud to know that some women see us that way the way I think most wish to be seen.

Pure truth. Not only a moment of truth. Truth in pure feelings from a life of experience with loss and gains. That is what you realy want in a poem. One thing is to percieve. Another is to write down your life's truth. I love it!
