Queen Card Death Trick
By Sean Mc Shane
Burning thru another shattered focus . . .
dreams splinter
some crack
refreeze in winter
then come right back
Year's end
glorified sinner
punk loser
reluctant beginner
In a blue-blown glass heart . . .
diamond showdown
crystal conspiracy
mirror image
everything dear to me
polished to shine
to an unnatural sheen
too hard to find
and so obscene
I know what lies beyond
as well as behind
the black water pond
that is my mind
Celestial sideshow with a moonglow guide . . .
soaring thru northern lights
chanting ancient rites
on these endless flights
into the lost Celtic nights
Beware of the white horse
the devil will deceive
taking it all by force
leaving no time to grieve
So hide your soul up your tattered sleeve . . .
the Queen card death trick
last time it broke her
hands of fate
always out to choke her
this deck is stacked
and
I'm the King Joker

Blackwater pond mind, what lies beneath? Much enjoyed and not familiar with this particular card trick, but maybe a metaphor for heroin abuse? Not sure and still pondering, thanks Sean

Thanks, d. No card trick or heroine abuse. Just old school word juggling from back-in-the-day and around the way. ( punk days revisited ) Thanks again, d. later -
