If...

By SweetEvilness93

If I were a bird,
About to take flight,
Over the ocean,
And far away from the city lights,
Would you fly with me,
To see the sights I would see,
Or just to simply keep me company,

If I were a seashell,
Lying on a sandy beach,
With small waves crashing over me,
And everyone else had walked past,
Would you pick me up,
And bring me with you,
Just so you could admire,
My broken beauty,

If I were a caterpillar,
On a warm summer day,
Would you capture me in a jar,
And watch me everyday,
Just so you could see me transform,
Into something beautiful,
Then let me go to fly away,
To an unknown destination,

If I were alone and lonely,
Much like I am now,
Would you offer a warm conversation,
Just to help me stay sane,
Or would you rather just turn,
And simply go the other way,

If I were to disappear someday,
Without a warning,
And you never talked to me again,
Would you miss me,
Or would you just not care,
And not shed a single tear,
For the person you once loved,
That is no longer near,
