The Lunatic Changeling
By Riven Waker
The slivery moon passes with hunger great
The darkness I value
does sanguine elate
The gibbous moon divulges its sway
The time
of sacrifice is a fortnight away
I who was changed by starlight eyes
Shall feed the ravens of flesh's reprise
The grey came once to
my cradle cold
To ensorcell the infant with dweomer bold
At
once I knew the power so fey
Apart from the treaded path I would stray
Making my own dark way
Cast out as an alien
For my matrons'
petty dalliance
Celestial spheres like spiders' orb eyes
Mesmerize
like vampiric gaze - soon to rise
The moment is nigh when blood freely
flows
The human mortals despair as midnight tolls
Spellbound
knelt down and felt the cold obelisk
Bonfire shadow takes form to
feed as a great basilisk

the rhyme made the flow very easy... the feel of it was dark, almost eerie yet didn't weigh it down too much... a lot of great images created so effortlessly... well done
