...Cracks in the Sky

By SolApathy

Peeking in the spaces between
(praying not to be seen)
Searching for memories, now a scream
Break of a soul I remember the moment, I know
Crack waiting to shatter, grows
Scattering shards of glass across my path
My feet bare
Knowing the memories will cut deep
Matters not whether I run or creep
I scream as they pierce the pills I take
Not enough in this world to forsake
Walking tall across this shard covered knoll
Employ the thought of a sunset firmament
(Glass ceiling shattered)
Echoing the numbing pain buried in my eyes
Soon there are only rain stricken skies
Mixing with the blood on the ground I sigh
What a beautiful kaleidoscope of lies
Dreams never entertained
Emptiness of true pain - - Hollow
No feeling—If only you knew
How not feeling can entrap you
Empty you of your soul
I swallow all the pills and never again

Good stuff. I, also liked the line, "What a beautiful kaleidoscope of lies." :) Again, good stuff. :)

  • A former member wrote: This is dark and depressive poetry at its best. I like your style and your use of metaphor is amazing

  • A former member wrote: Sometimes the emotional pain is a Hell of a lot worse than the physical pain. I've been down that road more times than I care to admit, and I can tell you from experience that drugs are not the answer. This is a beautiful yet cutting poem, dearest. Rebs:).
