the cheshire moon

By swing_the_hammer

one two three four
nothing's fair in love and war
thud thud thud thud
i got bad luck in my blood

drawing water from a well that never dries
unlike the tear ducts in my eyes
and if there's a word i'm lookin for
well i don't know it anymore

i can't remember what i've said
it's just too loud inside my head

a b c d
letters you never wrote to me
shake shake shake shake
my shoulders till i awake

restless from a dream i can't forget
influenced by people i've never met
like something you're still trying to say
when it's already gone away

what's the point, yeah what's the plan
are you my girl. am i your man

five six seven eight
i get the feeling i'm too late
give give take take
i have a heart. it tries to break

and beat a song into my chest
the part of me that hurts the best
i hear the chorus, sing refrain
but it returns again. again

a full moon's comin. let it ride.
there's no tellin what's inside

four three two one
my pulse is like a smoking gun
thud thud thud thud
bury my dreams in a castle of mud

it's a curse
not knowing what's in store
but it could be worse...
i could know more

time reveals what we have missed
and i don't want you on that list

Interesting. I've always loved to call the crescent moon a cheshire smile. :)
