Metamorphosis
By unspeakable truth
The breeze gently caresses
Sun kissed skin
Enticing the senses
Warmth penetrating deep to the soul
Invoking a needful awakening
As the eyes gaze longingly
At life’s renewal
All around the dead remnants of winter
Display an explicable truth
That time alone shows always
The beauty that just is
Endless individual hearts
Stream through the cycling
Minute to hour
Day into night
Year after year
Once upon someone’s past...
Confused sat stuck
Among the lifeless overgrowth
Tangled up in memories
Regret sat cutting away
The termite infested roots
Of long ago life paths
Overdue for burial
Lonely sat pondering loss
As they watched the children
Play blissfully in the streets
Almost showing
What should never be forgotten
Aimless
An eaten by fear anomaly
Peeks through the screen
Which allows in the sweetness
Craving for one more chance
As the mind sees only in yesterday’s shadows
Blindness sat painting
It all so pretty
Where their friend hopeless
Sat praying for an end
Time stutters, shakes
Reveals...
Aimless lonely regret
Holds hands with
The confused hopelessly blind
Somewhere faith sparks
As perfectly tiny buds reveal themselves
In every inch of nature
That envelopes us for all sides
Hope taps
At the unopened windows
To remind that the cycle
Is ever changing
Holds great promise
Joy stops by
Not that it ever really left
Along with patience and kindness
To sing
Like the birds who greet each dawn
In an almost celebration
The buds while still tiny
Will one day blossom into
Impressive enlightenment
Randomly and purposefully
In each new breath taken
Among the daily passing of our seasons...
