sleepless
By jack paper
dark descends
i surrender
and fall into
narcotic state
they come
slow initially
increasing gradually
cascading
ebbing flowing
raining
falling
rising
cacophanous
screaming!
i wake i shake
scatter them
into the blackness
i sleep
they come again
relentless
profuse
pervading
prodding
pounding!
it's no use!
up
begrudgingly
in a rage
i find a pen
and chain them
to the page

Wonderful! I had to read this multiple times. I don't think I've ever read anything quite like it! Great use of words.

..and you never said 'demons' once. Absolutely brilliant! Poetry has to be the most satisfying way of taking all the toxic shit that builds up in the mind and nailing it to a page. Write the hell on..
