...Plastic is the New Skin..

By JiNx

What’s life worth living,
When the world is so cold
And never giving.
Not daring but bold
In a none existing place…
Distant from life
And an unknown race
To be dissected by a knife
Without worry or care.
Life is unexpected
And love is very rare
To be lost and yet expected.
Being torn unpleasantly
By secrets and illusions
And unknown pathetically
With truths and disillusions
Followed by lies
With few downfalls of perpetual bliss
But a life never dies
Without death to be kissed.
Unexamined myths of ending
Followed with unfriendly faces
With temptation for mending
And jagged lonesome cases.
What’s this so called attention
If no one really sees
No one knows the secrets of the equation
Or the future full of destinies
People live off emptiness
Horrored by distant tragedies
Lost with no chance of happiness
Consumed in their own desperation
And hidden from reality
For what’s the devastation
If there’s no known morality
Nothing left in their lives to show
And convicted of useless pain
Because maybe it’s all a foe
Maybe someone hidden by these images
Careless to see the realness
Only seeing nonexistent damages
No one ever shall confess
This world may be fake
Evolving for the worst
With rumors you can always take
Just to please an others thirst
This world has been lost forever
Because ignorance is bliss
And people too quickly pull the lever
Never stopping to see what they miss
If this world is so pathetic
Then there’s no point living in it
Maybe that’s why they’re posttraumatic
Or why we all seem lit
Most of us are on these pills
To supposedly keep us sane
Because most of us never deal
With life that’s so called vain
But life is “grand”
For nothings really “real”
And life is bland
Because of thoughts that you seal
We’ve all become plastic idles
Just following some trend
For an unfortunate title
And then there’s nothing to defend
All the same
Untrue to ourselves
So we’re in the end all lame
Sitting on our little shelves
And forever to be tamed
With nothing to sell
So we’re all damned
For never having guts to tell
And hiding from ourselves
So plastics the new skin
And everyone won’t mend
I’m done with this sin
And just searching for the nearest end..

...from my standard of writing, the rhyming was truly awesome; ABAB is hard enough to pull off and sound good at it...otherwise, the structure of it was kind of lacking...a rhyme without meter is like a meter without rhyme... Scholar

...again, not bad, but that's one thing you can work on, if you want to, that is...oh, and as far as content...I find nothing wrong with that... ;) Scholar

nehhh. though you have pinpointed quite a bit of worldly truth.. there is certainly beauty to be found in every moment of our lives.. even the bad ones.. and this i know to be true. Great wording and delivery jinxie! ~b
