When Things Get Too Intense

By CorruptedLittleGirl

I want to climb up into the sky
And sink into a cloud
When things get too intense.

I’d watch the world below,
And using the stars as stepping stones,
I’d navigate myself to nowhere in particular.

When the cloud gets too soft
I’d jump back down to earth,
And I’d land, with rain boots,
In a puddle extending eternally in every direction.

I’d run and I’d run
And I’d splash and I’d play
And there would be no separation of night and day.

But sometimes the sky doesn’t look too friendly
And my bed seems like an awfully nice alternative
So I’ll bury myself beneath my blanket tonight.
And I’ll sink into a cloud
When things get too intense.
