Deep Six Elated

By Mistress Morbid

I got a glimpse of joy today
and warmed my smile beyond credence
to be tricked into an illusion so
real, and tangible is phenomenal
day dreams become reality and
nightmares a figment of my canny ingenuity
s-l-o-w-l-y v.a.n.i.s.h.i.n.g
without a trace

I touched the sky today and
it made me feel renewed and
luminous, like floating through air
weightless and as light as a
feather, hypnotizing and enticing
reaching up into water in lieu
of nether lesser, a fairy tale come true

I met a boy today who
lit up my world and showed
me things I could only muse of
he grabbed my hand and
taught me to fly, to let go
of my fears and doubts and be
free, free as a bird with no
chance of receiving clipped wings

Today I attended a funeral to say
goodbye to my only best friend

Awwww...the ending is so sad. Somehow, it fits with the poem, but then again, it doesn't. *shrugs* Loved it, unique. ~MS~
