Just Behind the Sun (Blackened Shades of Grey)
By Mistress Morbid
A butterfly flaps
irregular beats
drunken off of pollen
its wings torn
halfway off its body
Flutters rapidly
as fast as it can
in hopes the giant
will not grab it
and rip the rest
of its wings off
Staggering to stay
afloat the gusting wind
and far away enough
from the giggling giant
For the butterfly
has no where to hide
slowly drifting lower and lower
the butterfly glides into
water and is suddenly submerged
into the shiny depths
of a swiftly running lake
Sadly enough
the little child that
had torn the poor
butterfly's wings off
followed and fell into
the water as well
only to see that child
doesn't know how to swim
