Feelings..
By Anybody_Killette
A thousand tears have been shed
A million stories untold
But no one stops to wonder
No one even cares
about the stories of those
those they criticize
of those they judge
That lady on the street corner
fish net pantyhose
short skirts
Does she cry at night
because she is broken
Does she have feelings
Who cares about that homeless man
With his drug problems
and lack of food and clean clothes
That old lady
walking through the grocery store
acting happy as she buys her food
but does she cry at night
because she has lost her husband
her child, her friend
Have you ever considered
asking that little girl
with a dirty face and matted hair
that sits on your bus
If she is okay
And what about that old man
that lives in that haunted house
You call him Crazy
Ever stop and wonder
If he has old scars
from battle wounds
that bring tears to his eyes
every time he sees them
The cheerleader
that everyone loves
but she is still lonely
And what about that "weird kid"
who roams the halls
looking down as she walks
Does she cry at night
because of the things she has seen
in her short life
Because she causes herself pain
because she is depressed
And what about you
You
The one judging these people
Do you have feelings?

I love at the end, you stop and wonder if you really should answer the question.

your words are so true....the way people act it does cause to wonder if they feel anything

"A thousand tears have been shed/A million stories untold" - kind of borderline cliches. Poetry is the one store where larger numbers usually have less value ;) "Ever stop and wonder/If he has old scars/from battle wounds" - awesome thought.

This poem reminds me of one a I read a few days ago - same idea, that nobody stops to think about anyone else... and it's a damn good idea. Keep having them!
