Dancing Monkey
By sweetambrosia
I am just a dancing monkey
while you play your calliope
a marionette
with puppet strings...
pulling at my heart.
Your
cruelty
and apathy
to my plight
only seems to pull me
closer.
You laugh...
as I dance...
mercilessly...
trying to please...
but I am still...
just...
a dancing monkey.
All of a
sudden,
no longer attached,
no longer dancing...
your dance
Whirling, twirling,
taking control...
with ease...
I'm on my own.
Then with a simple glance...
I know...
it was only what you wanted me to believe...
and I am still...
just...
your dancing
monkey.
