Time The Devourer

By happilydepressed

We just found out it never was
And it was all because
We never even knew
Is there ever even a reason for anything we do

Just going to die and be forgotten
Don't think about it all that often
Almost forgot to remember
Got to watch my temper

The anger subsides so why even bother
Look out for one another
All we got is this one shot
That's all anyone else got

All or nothing
Trying has to mean something
Almost isn't even close
Space out and overdose

Visions of hell
Stealing pennies from the wishing well
And no one really understands how we feel
Wounds so deep they'll never heal

So go on and leave us be
Unless you're here to set us all free
Take what's yours and leave what we all call, "mine"
It doesn't even matter, it'll all be taken by time

The oldest and most beloved enemy
The devourer of life and memory
A challenge for the mind
To look back in time and rewind
