The Bodies Nobody Claimed
By happilydepressed
The bodies of warriors lay scattered on the ground
Now lifeless and no souls to be found
Look how the skin cold white shines in the moonlight
The eyes stuck wide open now blind to the ghastly sight
These bodies abandoned and forsaken
All bodies deem worthy taken
These bodies start to come alive
Yes in all these mangled bodies life has only began to strive
The hair and nails grow yet still
The bodies bloat and dark vile and gases spill
The flies lay their eggs and maggots are born
The forgotten bodies are not entirely forlorn
The skin rots and peels from the bone
The meat putrid and the eyes now gone
These warriors once fought in many battles
Now here lays their skeletons and skulls
Nobody bothered or was left to bury the dead
Their souls now doomed to walk the Styx ahead

This is a tight piece of work, and the piece about the Styx remind of the souls that wandered along the shores
