...Melodies of the Destitute

By SolApathy

A melody no longer plays as last light fades
Looking to the ocean blue
I sit on the dock without you
Stunning sights as sunset ignites the night
Setting ablaze a blackness as hope becomes a charade
Looking down I see an ebony sea
Devoid of life it calls to end my strife
Beckoning dark and cold
No light rays of hope to hold
Madness consumes reason
Enveloped by gloom of this winter season
I slip in to the depths and fade
My depression was no charade

The title held an interesting proposition but the development was one of despair and hopelessness. The sun will come up again; here's a life preserver my friend. Cheers! - Dan
