Ode to the Sad Poet
By Purposelessness
Alas the poet, finesse had not
His frantic works were soon forgotĀ
Pushed and shoved into a hole
He caved in and sold his soul
The devil works in wondrous ways
But severe prices must be paid
Handsome once, the leper wept
And wrote his story in fancy script
But from this world he must depart
Lest he live, yet fall apart

Thanks guys. I had quite a lot of fun with this one. I like to try and get a bit of ambiguity in, I hope it's come through in this one.

Great job on carrying through with the extended metaphor of leprosy here Purp. We the living die each day and perhaps we do achieve some small measure of immortality in what we write. Cheers and thankyou for not going Zombie on me :) - Dan
