Human Again

By Purposelessness

   I have prayed to gods
   Trusted in devils
   Fallen in love
   With angry rebels

   I have known the world
   And forgotten all
   Lived as creatures
   Great and small

   All my pain
   Is all of yours
   All your wounds
   Are all my sores

   I can't go on
   But I can't fade
   I'll even be you
   One of these days

Wonderfully succinct and thought provoking poem.

At first I was feeling this was about empathy until I read the tags. Despite the experience of pain repeated it's a comforting thought to think there are future opportunities to get it right. Maybe eventually to even break the cycle. Thought provoking, thank you for sharing.

There is definitely an aspect of empathy to this one. I have had trouble with the whole tagging business to be honest. Thank you.
