Like leaves in the autumn winds
I flutter across time
Drifting outside of body & mind
Dreaming of when you were mine
When once, we were all fine
Still I was
…In time…
Tick Tock
Will it never stop?
Nightmares of you
Frozen in place
Gravestone my nemesis
Felt so long the date on the stone
My final resting place, too
Losing you
Never would I escape
Purgatory of your death
Tick Tock
Rhythm of life
Stops
Found myself
Lost in misery
So many nights flicking this lighter
Without the emotional fuel for the flame
A reflection of my internal strife
I was sure the darkness would extinguish
…My life
Looked out my open window to the autumn sun
Never even realizing why…
As a leaf fell into my hand
I smiled for the first time in so long
You sent me the whisper in the wind...
Gave me the strength to move
...Again
