...Flint
By SolApathy
I
Ignite
Flint against the stone
Tell me I’m home
Out of the darkness and into your bed
Feeling the warmth
Spread
In my dreams my only escape
For so long
Felt them turning dark as the storm grew
Strong
Thought I was wrong
Never meant to be
No such thing as happy
Until your life entered mine
Entwined
Grew up my dark wall to the light
Like a vine
Wrapped in the embrace of your sign
In the caress of your smile
I feel divine
Whisper it’s time
I know I must go
A moment of sweet embrace and happiness
Now I must run…
Cancer of my soul too much to ever truly escape to the sun
You were a flash of flint in my tinder
before I burned out this

Thank you... most of my works are 10 minute poems, just how I've always been. Thanks for the inspiration to write this one :)
