Identity

By Lab Rat

I am a ruined God
Watching with disinterested eyes
Nihilistic demagogue
As the flesh begins to writhe
The melody slow, sultry
Provocation to rise
Synapses slide, and I'm whispering

To the death of me, so surreal and seen
Gleaming breathlessly, inside my fantasies
It all seems so real to me
With the ecstasy of reality
Sinking into blasphemy

And my memory is bloated

I've been goaded to extremes
Ripped and picked at the seems
Bleed and blistered

And I wait

For the tips of fingers
Lips to the origin
Of my listing crime
My eyes let free tear as the color
Washes away
as I sleep
and kiss goodbye my time

Inside my daydreams
my fantasies
its all reeling, wreathed in blasphemy

Down on hands and knees
Where my angel came to fall
I hear the call

Of yesteryear

The chill has gone away
The burning come to stay
With the sway of her hips
So hypnotically
Legs spread open
Gaping maw of tragedy

The fading of my memory

The plea of my hysteria

I envy your talent. I envy how it's second nature. I don't envy the source. I read your work a lot. This one digs deep and hits a nerve I didn't know was there.

This reminds me of a poem I read a few months back penned and narrated by another poet on SoundCloud who described an identity in crises surrounded by the circumferences of copulation only his had a different outcome as it was more erotic than chaotic - this was brilliant! ... ;)
