Who can We Trust?

By megaprime81

I'm going to attempt to make this poem as short as possible:

You can't trust the President, Congress, the Pope, or people on the street that are selling you dope. You can't trust any politician because they'd like to have sex with your teenage daughter. When we're voting it's like we're being lead to our slaughter. Up all night or sleep all day, whatever we do, it won't go away. To fix this problem, we have to cut it off at the root.
Starting all over, kicking out the suits. But don't bring violence by gun or knife, or else they'll lock you up and take away your life. No matter who's in charge, seems they're always doing wrong. And if you stand against it, they'll probably ban your song.

I was going to write an essay, then I started making rhymes, so I changed it to a poem.

My life was threatened; I was really a-'frettin'. Too few good people participate, 'cause their hopes soon deflate. But when they jump in, we must help them win. Then watch their backs, to ward off the quacks. You might think me a downer, a bad, chronic frowner. But truth be told, good hopes I uphold. My wife and I have sunny dispositions; we need good people in all those positions. Be brave; don't cave.
