A numb I can trust
By Deathkitten
Returning to nothingness
Like the black hole sun
Weighed down in heavy chains
with cool grains of sand & gravity
persistently tugging at tired
calloused feet
Suppressing emotion
and drawing a blank
colorless, pale, vacant face
The rare expression
will cut lines
like an aimless knife
Revealing a glitch
or figment of delight
Bombarded soul
withers in plight
Intent complains
of inner frustrations
expanding without warning
Yearning to burst
through boiling blood
The muscles are burning
but the flesh covers all
and if not delve into
I most certainly will
Spontaneously combust
and return to the nothingness
A numb I can trust
For nothing is all

You're not the only one who has said that recently. They say each one is like bam bam better better with each one. I sit & wonder if my older stuff was that bad hah thanks, Kimmy :)

At times it can be difficult to imagine what goes on within a perfectly normal seeming persons head, or even if there is anything within at all. Great write DK, love it.

Spontaneous combustion is over-rated. I once considered it but could only muster a bad rash from the prickly heat. This piece speaks to the numbness we all find at the end of our rainbows when life becomes a drudgery beyond tomorrow. Many Hugs coming atchoo, cheers Jess!
