Return to Memory Lane

By Sean Mc Shane

I started off on Memory Lane
supposed to be a Last Run
I felt Untitled, as I Embraced This World

I wasn't Willing To Follow
just Spitting Mind Matter
about The Good Ole Days
when you realize
You're Not Supposed To Be Here

and My Better Half, a Wet Nightmare
took me to the House of Dreams
where there is no Rest for the Wicked
just Words Forsaken
Within a Sacred Somewhere

my Badass Blues
told me We Were Right
though I was Gone For Good
back in the Tarantula Gardens
where a Circus of Mayhem
laid down the Chemical Gauntlet

Moonshine for a Wasteland Pariah
Summer came, bringing Memory and Foresight
like Weaving Titles at a Black Water Baptism

and my Last Dream
led me to a Charge of Desperation
showing me another Mutiny in Heaven

I violated the Star Maiden
in Interrogation Room #2
as a Shooting Star, twice
then I thought of Michelle
during a Couch Nap
like a Shooting Star twice more

( deep breath )

my Queen Card Death Trick
told me of Forever Promises
a Challenge,
for Me Hendrix Gloria and You

all the way to Midnight's End
where we found No Such Paradise
only an Invisible Flare
that showed the Truth of the Night

a Strain of Thought, for Next Time
just pass by the Black Door

to a HoneyGlide picnic
that was never Horribly Beautiful

a Babydoll in Blue
altered my Destiny's End

and a Wake Up Call
to Dev
from a Psychocidal Soul

and when in Forever's Blue Light
there's no Burn in Concern

then my Old School shit
left a Burning Coffee Table
as it went Back in the Shadow Again
leaving ahead misunderstood Thresholds

a Sunday Cervix turned to Star Drama

and while Kissin' Paradise
I found your Magic Word
in the Bliss of You

but that Graveyard Train came
hauling an Abandoned Prayer
spoken thru an Open Mic

and  2 Of 7 was an Ode to Joy
after you Kill Your Darlings
with my Killing Rage
which helped with Road Wrath

and when it's Too Dark to Sleep

I Return to Memory Lane . . .

Welcome back, you have been greatly missed, and reprising many of your old titles was quite an inspiration. We all live on the same roller coaster, just in different cars, thanks Sean!
