Babydoll in Blue

By Sean Mc Shane

Thinking of my Babydoll in Blue
slow slide into sleep with a soft smile
I want to be wrapped in that warmth with Her
though oceans of space have delayed that awhile

So I will swim out to the edge of Her Crystaline dream
where I'll find Her sitting on the Golden Moon's shaded side
where She's been waiting for me all along
on a shimmering neon beach so far and wide

She reminds me of the times the sky was made of spectral fire
when the oceans were flat and carried such Enchanted lands
where we took what was forgotten to make our own sacred world
filled with deep romance and heroic stands

Where we once waged war against the agents of the abyss
who have now fled to another time and dismal place
on the otherside of the mythical black sun
into their lost pathetic realm of perpetual disgrace

For they no longer wish to hunt Us nor strike at Our Love
because they no longer wish to risk oblivion or death
so there will be light winds that carry elegant words again
softly spoken thru the heated passion of my Babydoll's breath

I gaze at Her beauty on Our walks thru the Fairy Tale frontier
She brings me to the peak of some magical immortal pride
We always knew We were Our own magnificent destination
We made sure neither of Us were ever just along for the ride

Nothing has the power to threaten Us now or ever again
What We have has become so strong and so true
I pray that this endless universe can hold all We have
but all I really want is to hold my Babydoll in Blue . . .

,,,this transcends space & time. I see several legendary settings in this, from knights & princesses even to Gene Kelly dancing w/Cyd Charisse in a blue babydoll...
