Strain of Thought
By Sean Mc Shane
Walking the dogs of war right thru, hand in hand with you
searching
for a treasure map, we once believed to be true
railroad
ties - summer sun
wild jokes - stolen gun
When the echoes of the old clock, can pick
Time's Great lock
my broken door came down, everytime you just had
to knock
Cut it
short - walk the track
keep it down - don't look back
We'll know it's for sure, the Mystery
always reveals more
no need to wish at the well, when it's sitting
here in the core
nice
play - outcast collage
me now - in your mirage
Have you forgotten already ? How our rehersals
were never ready
once upon No time, when all the seas were never steady
Way back - remember
where ?
too
special - secret double dare
Our time together is luke warm, drifting
ever further from the norm
try and stoke this fire, in the midst of
a raging winter storm
the
car - the cops came
smelled blood - on my name
found my shadow at the cliff, plus a million
thoughts on what-if ?
didn't see you there, you must've been getting
high in the rift
fair claim - same sky
number's up - high 'n dry
the occasional false bliss, when everything
seemed to be alright
until the Dark returned, to smother everything
that was big 'n bright
said Goodbye - black bag
random chances - Black Flag
I have to burn on Memorial Day, in order
to feel that I've won
though the victory is bitter, still better
than the other one
keep gaggin' - roll out more
same focus - same as before
So now we wander thru another season
slowing the world's
Time for no real reason
sideways glances caught
hiding thoughts of high treason

I've read this 3 times and it just gets better and better. I like the way your mind jumps around, yet all the subjects are tied tightly together like a mad spiral - thanks for the ride, a keeper for sure - XXOO

Thanks, 'Blues. I actually was working on two at once, but neither stood well alone. Thanks again for the high compliments as always. Cool. Later -

Black Flag is great on roaches but don't recommend huffing it (HA)! Another cryptic yet revelatory submission that turns on the head of pin perhaps. Much enjoyed and still pondering bro, thanks.

Thanks, d. I was actually refering to the punk band, Black Flag. But now I kinda like the roach-killer idea better. Thanks, again. Later -

Sure. but I have to get divorced first. I married a horse in El Paso and she is really making the proceedings drag-out. Thanks, Dev. Til next time -
