Blood, Guts, and Sadness

By hate_doll

As they trudge into war,
Step by step getting closer,
To a target they so aimlessly chose
To reign over, to "save", a nation that is in need

But really we are the nation that needs saving
So morally corrupt, that we can't see the harm in our will
The will to kill and say we helped
Say we cared, by bombing their capital city,
Which was once so glorious the Gods would have spoken high of it
To mere rubble

We say that killing is helping the world
that everytimg we do were are one step closer to
To divine happiness,
To the garden of Eden

Blood, guts, and sadness,
We march into war,
Burn and kill mercilessly,
Icy corpses, hanging like pork at a bucher's shop
And yet we show a self-redeeming smile
Like we have just pursued a feat of divine purity

People are proud to serve a country that thriveson weakness
That will plunge into war the first chance it gets
We are proud when our family dies in the feat of war
Because they dies for a good cause

The good cause?
We are happier, when many more suffer ever worse
We have gained more security, when many more have lost so much
We have yet again shown we are the best, we can't be defeated
By praying on innocent life that must be destroyed

But in the end, out blood red trail of glory
Only leaves one thing, that can never be changed...

Blood, guts, and sadness

God this gave me rushed events of all the shit that has happened in the last couple of years. 9/11, the war in Iraq (or where-ever the fuck it is), the stupid decisions that the president has made. This is sooo powerful in soooo many ways. I give you two

War is sadness in the physical form...there can be no better description nor vision for it. You've done an excellent job with this one...that's all I have to say. ~DW~

This is something worth getting passionate about. There are no easy answers with something like this. However, if it does not make you sad and angry, then something is wrong, very wrong. Wonderful, emotional writing; as always.
