Fragments of Sanity
By darkness_descends
Every day I am closer to the end
I grow older
And infinitely colder
Heart turns to stone
Bit by bit
Until it becomes a cold rock
Encased in hatred
Life is given
With the promise of death
Every day another piece of me dies
Frustration
Confusion
Contempt
All boil like molten hatred
The fires of hell
Mounting in my stone heart
Threatening to erupt
Crack the mold
Destroying my hold
On my fragments of sanity.

It's a very good write. I'm surprised nobody's commented in so long. I really like it.

Very descriptive piece - I like the notion of a heart seemingly turning to inert stone, but inside is encased a molten subtance in danger of eruption. That subtle device made this work. Ciao, T/S
