Memories A la Carte

By Musik2MyEyes

My writing is like my cooking
Often random
Nothing measured
Leftover (thoughts)
And seasoned
In black and white

I have savored it all before
But I don't know how well
It can be served to others
I offer a bite
Knowing we all have
Different tastes

Short stanzas like an
Hors d'œuvre
If delicious enough
You will want the
Soup or salad

And if I can control the portions
You will delight in an
Entrée
That melts in you mind

Comfort food
Because you recognize it
Homecooking
This is my life you're tasting

But please
Take your time
Chew slowly
Enjoy every delectable word

I have every intention
Of serving you
Dessert

In the hopes that you will
Return for another meal.
