cig. logic diaries #6 scarecrows vengence

By whisperer

he steps out into the back
the lighter clicks and cigarette smoke fills the air in an other dank and lightless night
black is the word and black is a night without anyone to calm a growing anger
a nameless rage
a lifeless sneer splays itself across his face like a love stained whore
life has passed him by many times
but tonight some good will be done
walking down the barren concrete and stucco jungle pathways he is followed by the pinioned unwitting
the unthinking
it has no inkling
he is unblinking in his sightless gaze at whatevers infront of him
a sneer splattered across his pale face
like so much dried blood on the asphalt
like the wheeze when the dead talk
and he plays to its feathered game
down one vacant street and another
waiting for other crows themselves uncover
gloved hands in in pockets
and steady his gait so much time but little patience to wait
with that sneer plastered all over his face
they come
the first like a boulder rolling slow and heavy with a bat across the shoulders
his turn is swift and the boulder lies wretching through a gaping hole in its throat
smearing vomit and bloody bits across the cracked asphalt
the second is just as gracful
swinging its fists like the crazed junky it is and gets its wing shattered in 3 places for its effort
its the lucky one
he turns in time to see the .357 magnum revolver spit fire and thunder
and shatter his left shoulder
he smiles at it
that sneer glorified in all it unholy wonder
like a heathen god he is unencumbered
the gun clatters across the ground
his thumb scores its beady black eye and its screams rebound as his cuticle scrapes its brain
gripping fingers remain embedded in bone pulling back suddenly
yet an eye doesnt atone just yet
it will not live to regret
after two broken wings and one eye lost its only just now time to extract the cost
most beloved of little crows
he kisses its beak
that sneer spreads slowly across his face like a bruise
or a puddle
he takes a grip just below the lowest rib and squeezes
screams come out in hoarse gasps til it releases
1
he sits its body up and bends the wing back just so
*crack.....and a wet ripping noise*
it cant scream, it just sits there gasping, as its left wing is no longer where it should be
ihe slaps it with the wet end
"PAY ATTENTION!"
2
that beatiful knife he's been saving
he slips it out just to look at it
so perfect and unorthodox, the infant butcher
square ended, single sided hunk of attractive steel...the knifes too good to dull on its worthless flesh
he grips it, blade upright and starts hammering on its head with the butt of the blade
4
13
22
...theres nothing recognizable left
3
that sneer, that jagged sneer
like a scarecrow forgotten in the fields
this scarecrow has scared his...
some might say that when a scarecrow falls from his post
only the leaves mourn his passing
thats good
god save the crows
because what little of life they knew
thatll be the last thing
