the hunter's snare

By ebonyamore

did you ask me, then, how i prefer my death?
did i miss the part of the discussion where you tell me how you like your kill?
no flashy predator you...no shock of plumeage, no honeyed scent to lure me in with false pretense,
no venus flytrap are you, waiting for your prey to come to you....patient and unerring in the knowledge that you are as irresistable as breath.

no

none for you.

persistent.
unrelenting.
Creeping through my heart like a tiger on the prowl.
with beautiful but razor sharp words that can slash me to bits and a hunter's purpose-filled
focus.

Perhaps in the end its only fair. I hunted you first.
I sought solace in a breakable passion, buying happiness with borrowed words, oh so fancy in all their fragile nothingness.

So go ahead.
trade my blood for your words..
such sweet, soothing noise in the crashing cacophany of my life.

you are the soothing dark...like the phantom with his music of the night. you seduce with careful, quiet pictures. pictures without promises, stories with no endings. possibilities without consequence.

but in this blissful labyrinth of anarchy:
darkness without light,
salvation from redemption
and chaos without panic i am lost....

i know nothing of this place. the currency i carry buys nothing in the world where i find you but the guarantee that i will watch my end overtake me and i will be in awe of it as with any fine artwork.
i need what you have offered but i know i won't survive your price.

It started out and finished pretty weak for my taste, but oh the entirety of the middle section was a "blissful labyrinth" of amazingly sewn lines. The quilt is perfectly crafted, so to speak, just trim up the edges.
