Eyes of the Dragon
By Riven Waker
A trace signal
Stirs me in my grave
Is it thirst or is it the
night air
And then
The dewdrops
Of a chill morning
Are lenses into the sun
Staring with manifold
Eyes widening
like a feline
Predator
Through the retina
Of a distant
green star
Like a dragon with a googleplex
Smoldering eyes
Many
eyes
eyes
eyes
eyes
eyes
eyes
eyes
I cannot hear the children's laughter
I cannot see
the angels' faces
Only the bleak duldrum
Of this excuse for rest
I have shed more than blood
In the battles my craven heart
braves
I would still rather kill than die
But who wouldn't
I'm dying inside
Each day drags me deeper into despair
Wishing ill for all the human meat
Hatred is my only release
To compensate for pain
Depression numbs me into sedation
And
I am pleased with this seemingly final state

I have a hard time expressing what exactly it is I like about your works but know that they are appreciated. You use a style of imagery that only you could own and I can dig it. Much enjoyed.

Hahaha indeed you are (to the last part) I didn't mind it. But I think it could use more depth. Though it could just be me and my way of poetry.
