The Dream Descent

By Riven Waker

Each thought alludes me to follow
As I drown in tormented anguish
The realization of this sophistic way
Artifice deadens by collective cascade

Cold tentacles reach out to every soul
Clutching the once cherished in blind
Hatred and madness displace all held
Dearly bought are the baubles there

Flay the skin of the sentient deceiver
Rend her flesh and lay her barren out
Hallowed and torn to charnel cleaved
Terrors and voids swim narrow ethers

Die again leaving one and do not cease
Do not question the horrors before you
Threadbare in torture they shall kneel
The blissful writhe in endless death - soon to pay

These are the depths of meaning in shadowed lakes
Jest as the mealymouth philosophy they've sold
It will be as such in the grimmest mock tone
Slaughtering creation turning salvation astray

Beams of angelic light trapped forever
In black mirrored and lightless labyrinth
Eyeless slave gods devour flickers of night
When daylight was the sum of all eons of life

As the dreamers descend into {coldest} oblivion
Arise nightmares awaken and conquer

Powerful and post-apocalyptic feel. As usual vivid visuals throughout. I really liked the way you ended it in the last two lines. Left me wondering what would happen next. Cool man.
