This is not about perfect poetry.

By Armor for your life

I just want to write something
that echoes across your skin.
And shines so bright
that everyone calls their attention to you.

I want it to make you cry,
because you'll after all this time,
know how much you were treasured,
I want it to be the mirror that reflects how beautiful you are,
I want it to be what you rest your head on at night
and what you shield your heart with during the day,
I want it to be the anthem for all your rainy days,
I want you to be able to read it in
every cloud that passes you by,
I want it to encourage you to give chase
even through storms.
Because when I write it
I'll ink it on my back
and finally walk away knowing
no one will ever say Love better than that.

It will forever be how I exit your world.
The last thing you'll ever see of me will be
what I lived to show,
Love.

True meaning comes from the journey and there is no true perfection anyway. This was beautiful in a timeless kind of way. Very nice.

"Because when I write it I'll ink it on my back and finally walk away knowing no one will ever say Love better than that." I used to feel like this. Like I wanted to express my love so greatly that they would never forget, and no one else could ever compare to it... just to know I had an effect, made a difference, stayed in their mind... The title is brilliant, but to be quite honest; this is perfect.

Anyone would be so, so lucky to have words like this written about them, because they're beautiful and promising. I adore this. Thank you for sharing it with us.
