The Boogey Man

By happilydepressed

Where have all the children gone
Won’t be safe till dawn
You can’t hide
I’m already inside
Hiding in your closet or under your bed
In the dreams that fill your head
What’s that, just a shadow
Pull the shades, shut that open window
Got your night light to light up the place
Pulled the cover over you face
What your mama told you was true
Heard the howls as the wind blew
Through the night you can’t sleep
You pull the cover down for a peep
Your eyes full of dread
As I watch you from the foot of your bed
To scared to scream
You can’t wake up from this dream
I carry you down the hall
A picture falls off the wall
Your dad comes to see
And he looks at me
I see the fear in his eyes
I leave without a fight no one ever tries…

Dear Billy's Dad
Are you sad
Try to stop me if you can
I’m the Boogey Man
And I’ll always be around
Haunting and preying on your town
Some say I don’t exist
Well if you insist
A mere bedtime story
Then why worry
Me, Santa, and Jesus are all chilling at the North Pole
With your little boy I stole
I’ll send his bones to you in the mail
Hey I’ll see you in Hell
Take care
May every waking moment be miserable and your dreams filled with fear
Your little girl Sally for now is yours to keep
So please try to get some sleep
But this coming Sunday
I feel will be dark and gray
But don’t you worry
It’ll all be a campfire or a little bedtime story
And if you can
Love, the Boogey Man
P.S. that’s a nice little nightgown she’s wearing
Oh don’t worry, I'll be loving and oh so caring
