*Water Marks*

By Crystal Passion

They singe me when you’re with her
Scalding my cheeks with their moist embers
Lacking spark and distinguishing rouge
They drown me…

… unknowingly to everyone else

They engulf me when you’re with her
Satcheled, tethered, and sinking deep
Their weight hindering my breath
They mock me…

… unknowingly to everyone else

They break me when you’re with her
Shredding with masochistic undertones
Reminders of a shattered heart
They kill me…

…unknowingly to everyone else-

because I only cry when I’m alone.
