all dreams soon die

By torn_beauty

dreamers come and go
and die so soon
all their dreams of being something
turned to dust.

practical people come and seize the day
their dreams are long forgotten
and they look to the payroll.
bringing in the cash.

Did you see that?
one dreamer slipped through,
through the cracks
and became something.

now thats not something you see
all that often
he went past all the business
and went straight to celebrity.

now watch as we all stare
then begin to pick at him
for being lucky,
for being up there.

soon he will die too
just like the rest
but his death is prolonged
by his slow and painful success.

Ah the irony of success, it's infuriating, is it not? You work off your balls to be loved and you end up spit on... well said:) Scholar

Awesome work you've done, but what's so sad is how true this is.
