*~The Phoenix That Never Arose From Its Ashes~*
By Zhee
Cradled in your splintered hands
The cremated carcass screams,
As you embrace the blazing ashes
Igniting your incinerated dreams.
Stale beer memories, burn
The scalded wings of life,
Plundered plumage shrivels
In the face of flaming strife.
On this altar of bestiality
Your innocence did expire,
As your father flicked the lighter
And set your mother on fire…...
.
.
.
.
.
.
Your pristine tears-
Silently rain on scorched flesh,
Waiting ....
For the phoenix to arise from the ashes….
(This is what my fifteen yr old patient witnessed as a child...)

I wonder whether it's harder for a person to experience this, or whether it was even harder for you to write it. Perhaps both. Many thanks for all your work you do, both w/your words on paper & the patients you see every day. *faves* ~Shane~
